Meet the Founder

Skye

Biochemical Engineer · Educator · Mother · Village Builder

Colorado School of Mines Biochemical Engineer Mother of 3 STEAM Pioneer Faith-Driven Farm to Future

She graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a biochemical engineering degree — and a fire for education that no laboratory could contain. She pioneered STEAM workshops, became a private educator during COVID, built programs from coding to farm-to-table. Then she became a mother — three children, in a row — and felt the gap herself. The village wasn't there. So she built one.

"I was looking for a nanny — and realized I needed a village. So I built one."

— Skye, Founder · Legacies Learning Villages

The Story Behind the Village

She didn't just study this.
She lived every word of it.

The Foundation
Colorado School of Mines — Biochemical Engineering
Skye didn't just attend one of the most rigorous engineering schools in the country — she graduated with a fire for education that couldn't be contained in a lab. The science background gave her something most educators never have: a systems mind. She sees child development the way an engineer sees a process — designed, intentional, optimized for real outcomes.
Pioneering
STEAM Workshops & Private Education
Before it was a movement, Skye was in schools running STEAM workshops — bringing science, technology, art, and math together in ways children actually loved. When COVID shut the world down, she pivoted immediately into private teaching, showing up for families when the system couldn't. She never stopped showing up.
The Real Education
Three Children. In a Row. Everything Changed.
She hired the nannies. She worked from home with an infant in her arms. She tried the drop-in programs. She toured the daycares. And she felt what millions of parents feel but cannot name — this system was not built for families. It was built for convenience. One person, isolated, trying to do the job of five. No continuity. No curriculum. No village. Just a transaction dressed up as care.
The Realization
We Were Never Meant to Do This Alone.
The nuclear family was never designed to operate in isolation. Cooking, cleaning, childcare, education, transportation, emotional support — one person cannot carry all of this. What families need is what families used to have before modern life stripped it away: a village. Not a service. Not an employee. A real, present, invested community that shows up and stays.
The Leap
Her Own Family Became the First Village.
Skye's family took the leap of faith first. Her parents stepped in — not as employees, but as village. Her children became the living proof. Legacies Learning Villages isn't a concept she dreamed up in a boardroom. It's a reality she already lives, breathes, and builds every single day. She is the founding family. Her children are the founding students.
Today
From Farm to Future — Programs That Actually Mean Something.
From coding classes to farm-to-table programs, Skye creates curriculum that keeps children rooted in the real world while fully prepared for the digital one. STEAM Montessori. Life skills. Enrichment that lasts a lifetime. Over ten years of private education — and now she's building the center that lets her do it for every family in the community.

The Moment That Changes Everything

"I was looking
for a nanny
and I got a village instead."

That's what every Legacies family says. Because that's what every Legacies family gets. Not one person. Not a transaction. A whole community that shows up, knows your child by name, and builds your legacy right alongside you.

🌿 Legacies Learning Villages · Manvel, TX

What She Believes

The village isn't a service.
It's a way of life.

🌱 Children Need More Than Supervision

A warm body in the room is not education. Every single hour of a child's day is a developmental opportunity — and Skye designs every one of them with intention, from morning circle to afternoon enrichment.

🤝 You Deserve a Partner, Not an Employee

The nanny model creates dependency — they might leave, you start over, your child loses someone they love again. Legacies creates partnership. We are invested in your family's future because your flourishing is our flourishing.

🌾 Rooted & Reaching — Farm to Future

From farm-to-table cooking to advanced coding curriculum — children thrive when they're grounded in the real world and reaching toward the digital one. Both belong. Both matter. Skye teaches both.

🏘️ The Nuclear Family Was Never Meant to Go It Alone

This is her core conviction — and the reason Legacies exists. The isolation of modern parenting is not natural, not sustainable, and not necessary. You were always meant to have a village. We're yours.

Faith · Family · Purpose

"God is my saviour. My family is my foundation. This village is my calling."

Skye is married, a woman of deep faith, and a mother of three. Every decision in Legacies flows from that center — love for family, trust in purpose, and an unshakeable conviction that community changes everything.

The Women Who Said Yes

No village is built
by one person alone.

Skye carries the vision — but this mission is carried by many. Meet the extraordinary women who answered the call, stepped out in faith, and helped birth something that has never existed before.

The Founding Team

The women who dared
to build the village.

Business Management Mother of 3 Homeschool Educator Faith-Centered Nature-Based Learning

In Gisel's Own Words

I am an entrepreneur, educator, and homeschooling mother of three — and I have always believed that children don't just learn, they bloom, when their education is rooted in both purpose and wonder. My journey into education never began in a traditional classroom. It began at home, in the quiet, sacred spaces between discovery and growth, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of curiosity, hands-on learning, and faith-centered guidance shaping young hearts and minds.

With a background in Business Management, I have spent years building ideas that serve families and communities. But my greatest work has always been this — creating meaningful learning experiences for children grounded in nature, guided by strong values, and designed to cultivate both knowledge and character.

This micro-school and farm is the natural extension of that calling. We are creating a space where children can slow down, explore deeply, and reconnect — with the land, with each other, and with God's creation. Here, education goes beyond textbooks. It lives in the soil, in the changing seasons, in responsibility, creativity, and quiet moments of reflection.

We believe in raising confident, capable learners who are not only academically prepared, but spiritually grounded and emotionally resilient — nurtured wholly, loved deeply, and sent forward with purpose.

A Note from Our Founder

Some friendships are orchestrated by God himself. Gisel and I first crossed paths stepping out of our minivans — both slightly tardy, both mothers of three daughters born back-to-back, both clearly navigating the beautiful chaos of the same season of life. I was new to the territory, but seeing another mother in a nearly identical chapter was like lights turning on in my heart. From that parking lot moment, Gisel has become a true sister in Christ, and I am endlessly grateful that she stepped out in faith and opened her heart to this mission.

She has been the embodiment of a founding family — pioneering quickly into leadership as Co-Founder because of her extraordinary dedication, deep care, and an equal calling to a higher purpose. Gisel is a walking light on this earth.

Early Childhood Pioneer · Industry Leader · Woman of Faith

30+ Years ECE Industry Pioneer In-Home Daycare Founder Faith-Driven Family Advocate

For Such a Time as This.

Some people arrive in a room and you immediately sense they have been somewhere — that their presence carries the weight of wisdom, the warmth of purpose, and the quiet authority of someone who has given their life to something greater than themselves. Diane Moore is that person.

With over three decades of hands-on experience in early childhood education — beginning with an in-home daycare she founded and growing into the leadership of multiple ECE centers across the nation — Diane's career is not simply a profession. It is a calling. A devoted wife to Bishop Johnny Moore Jr. and a mother of two, Diane understands firsthand what families need, what they search for, and what they truly deserve.

When Diane was first introduced to Legacies Village, she knew immediately — something different was happening here. She could see the need. She could feel the vision. From the very first conversation, Legacies captured the heartbeat of what families are genuinely searching for, and she has been a committed voice behind this work ever since.

"I believe Skye is walking in true purpose. What we are doing at Legacies matters. It is blooming and blossoming into something revolutionary — godly, even. Like a life preserver for families who are searching for something real. This is the Lord guiding what comes next. Such a time as this."

A Note from Our Founder

Diane is a true pioneer of the early childhood education industry — one of the original in-home daycare founders whose vision was commercialized before the world fully understood what she was building. Her insight is invaluable. Absolutely priceless. She has watched generations of children grow, and witnessed firsthand the struggles families face within the current working class structure. That depth of experience cannot be taught. It can only be lived.

Trekking into the unknown — leaving a corporate biotech career to answer a divine calling — required a leap of faith I cannot fully put into words. And Diane, without even knowing the full weight of what she was stepping into, became one of God's clearest instruments in my journey. Through her wisdom, I felt safe. Through her encouragement, I felt brave. Through her unwavering faith, I felt on fire for God's purpose and calling.

Creating something entirely new is not easy. It is exhilarating and terrifying all at once — a real risk to my family, to everything familiar. But we take that risk together as a founding team because we are truly called to something higher. Called to transform. Called to shine a light on an industry that too often overlooks what matters most — the sacred importance of motherhood, of childhood, of raising the next generation through science, sustainability, and deep, abiding faith.

Diane didn't just join a nonprofit. She helped birth a movement.

Biochemical Engineer · AI Innovator · Educator · Mother · Tinkerer

Colorado School of Mines AI Technology Biochemical Engineer 3D Printing Mother of 3 Faith-Driven

In Skye's Own Words

I am, at my core, a true tinkerer. Someone who cannot look at a system — whether biological, digital, or human — without asking: what if we built this differently? My roots are in biochemical engineering, where I fell in love with the elegance of the double helix — the idea that something as invisible as code could determine our traits, our tendencies, our very capacity for growth. And yet, it is not genetics alone that shapes us. It is our environment. The experiences we move through. The emotions we carry and learn from along the way. That intersection — between who we are written to be and who we become — is where I have always lived and worked.

Today, that same curiosity drives my work in AI technology. I specialize in intelligent systems, automation, and tools that free people to do what only humans can do — connect, create, and lead with purpose. I tinker with 3D printing, prototype ideas before most people finish the sentence, and find deep joy in inventing experiences that blend technology, education, and automation into something genuinely useful for real families and real communities.

But I am also a multi-passionate artist at heart. The creative impulse lives right alongside the engineer in me. Design, storytelling, beauty, intention — these are not distractions from the work. They are the work. Legacies Learning Villages is the fullest expression of everything I have ever been: the scientist, the builder, the mother, the dreamer.

"Innovation starts with Inspiration."
